So far so good

First heard about these in a cycling magazine and became really interested in them because as a rider who uses regular flat pedals, I've always found myself having to make little micro adjustments in my foot position when riding. I figured with a set of these, I would no longer need to adjust my foot placement because the pedal itself would adjust.

I tired these pedals on an endurance road bike and a fat bike. I will say that they're a little on the big side and stick out from the bike some (comparable to having a set of pedal extenders -which I like because I have big feet). However, on the road bike this could lead to pedal strikes in tight turns so human bullet trains might not be about it. it's a tradeoff I would take. Riding out of the saddle was a little unnerving at first -especially if I grabbed the end of the pedal with my foot and the twist was more pronounced. However, this isn't a dig so much as a thing that forces better foot placement/riding habits. Overall I like the lighting motif, the sets of extra springs to go up or down in felt resistance, and the second set of studs if you want a more aggressive grab on your shoes.I also felt like it helped mitigate the need to constantly adjust my foot. So good product. I'm interested to see how they will perform in Alaska during the winter.

Novel idea, great pedals!

Road bike and MTB clip in pedals have float. But what about 'flats'? Now they do! A very good solution in a high quality pedal!

Great first model of pedals! I don't feel as much float as I initially was expecting, which is good because I don't want the pedal flopping all over. I still plan on playing with the different springs to see a difference. However, when first riding out of the saddle (road bike rider), I did feel more comfortable than the pedals I had on before. The pegs haven't ruined my shoes yet, so the engineering to make these easier on shoes seems to be working.

The design is really cool as I love the crackle effect. Only 1 thing I would change and 1 thing to suggest for future models. The red color looks more like pink on the online photos, which made me go with black instead. If the red was more of a normal red, those would have been my choice. So in future models, I'd like to see an adjustment to the colors so they're more true, unless the red would have come as normal and it's just a photo issue.

Second would be that for road riders concerned with weight, the pedals are a bit on the heavier side. I'm sure this isn't an issue for mountain biking, as you probably want more robust pedals. It's not bad, but I would be concerned adding these to a carbon fiber road bike considering you're trying to cut as much weight as possible on those type of bikes. So potentially adding a road-specific option that takes weight more into account would be a huge appreciation for road riders and I'm sure could lure more people over to these pedals.

Overall, I love the pedals so far and look forward to riding them and seeing what comes out in the future!

Happy feet!

A couple of rides in and I'm very happy to have float back in my riding. They have a very intuitive feel. I could feel my foot angle changing as I rode. Not having to focus on lifting my feet to adjust is a joy. The pedals are very well made and being able to fine tune them easily will add to my riding pleasure. They are a great upgrade to my bike.

Awesome Pedal

I have been riding the x8-1 pedal for 3 months, approximately 350 miles, and found that I have less knee stress no matter how long the ride is. The foot print is wide so your outer foot does not get stressed. When riding down hill your feet feel fluid going over berms, bumps, and jumps. The small foot pegs are preferred over the small screws on other pedals. The hardware has knurled screws. No issues adapting from standard pedals. In short, these pedals make it very comfortable to ride, my wife agrees since she used the pedals too! Pennsylvania rider! Keith
