Tailoring our offerings to a diverse range of riders, from road cycling enthusiasts to mountain bike aficionados, we provide solutions for every level of bike enthusiast.

Enhanced Comfort and Efficiency

The 8 Degree Floating Bike Pedals feature an innovative design that incorporates an 8 degree float, allowing for a comfortable and natural foot movement during the pedal stroke. This reduces strain on joints, minimizes pressure points, and optimizes pedal efficiency. Cyclists experience a smoother ride, enhanced comfort, and improved power transfer, making long rides more enjoyable.

The 8 Degree Pedal Explained

As the first ever flat floating pedal, our multi-patented 8 degree pedal boasts a unique design, offering unparalleled alignment of the knee, foot, and ankle for a ride that feels effortlessly natural. Pedal float in cycling has been proven to have more comfort and better power transfer, and to reduce irritation and possible injury to your knees.
Our pedals have been designed to be self-centering with an internal spring-loaded mechanism that also provides self-compensation for foot float on the pedal. This mechanism also helps to counteract excessive floating.
Our pedals have been engineered internally to be extremely durable and low maintenance. Rigorous field tests by avid cyclists have been performed as well as strenuous lab testing on the pedal with a weighted load, ran at 60 RPM in conjunction with 60 back-and-forth 8 degree cycles per minute for a 1,036,800 cycle test. On top of that, the pedal has met and exceeded test requirements for the International Safety Standards test 4210-8.

SPRINGS

Our springs are designed for maximum life in this configuration and show zero fatigue from the 1,036,800 cycle tests. The springs installed in the pedal from the factory are blue medium tension springs catered to most riders. We are also providing an extra set of light resistance springs for lighter or less aggressive riders and heavy resistance springs for heavier or more aggressive riders. These additional springs can be easily changed by the customer with a metric Allen wrench.

SLIDING PUCK

This puck is the key to our design; It is one of the hardest and lowest anti-friction co-efficient components available. It also has shown little to no wear in the 1,036,800 cycle test under load. The puck slides back and forth in between 2 thin but strong stainless plates at the top and bottom of the puck without lubrication on the surfaces as designed. The puck surfaces and stainless plate surfaces become polished from the sliding puck movement.

SPRING PLUNGERS

The internal mechanism works with 2 opposing spring- loaded plungers that slide in and out of opposing plunger bores while applying pressure against the curved lobes on a sliding puck. These spring-loaded plungers apply an increasing load resistance as the float increases from (0) degrees center-position to +/- (4) degrees in each direction which is key in the self-compensating float design. These plungers have shown little to no wear in 1,036,800 cycle tests. Minor lubrication is required.

SPHERICAL BEARING

Our custom-made, Teflon coated bearing has shown little to no wear in 1,036,800 cycle tests. Minor lubrication is recommended.

2 SLEEVE AXLE BEARINGS

Our pedal has been matched with the best, lowest friction plastic sleeve bearings designed with longevity in mind. These same bearings are found within the highest quality cycling pedals on the market. Lubrication is not required.

SEALS

Our pedal has 4 seals to help prevent dirt and moisture from entering the internal mechanism. 1 plate seal, 2 o-ring seals, and 1 shaft seal. These seals are extremely effective, however like any other pedal, depending on the riding conditions and time spent on the pedals, more frequent maintenance may be advised.

Versatile Adaptability Across Disciplines

These pedals offer versatile adaptability, making them suitable for various cycling disciplines such as road biking, mountain biking, and indoor workouts. With an adjustable float range from -4 degrees to +4 degrees, cyclists can fine-tune the pedals to match the specific demands of their chosen discipline. This adaptability ensures that riders can use the same pedals across different bikes and activities, adding convenience and flexibility to their cycling experience.

WILL THE PEDALS HAVE A SHORT LIFE AND WARE OUT SOON DO TO ALL THE MOVING PARTS

Our pedals have been engineered and designed internally to be extremely durable and require minimal maintenance.

  • Springs: Our springs are designed to endure a minimum of 1 million cycles; however, this is a conservative estimate.
  • Spring Plungers: Testing has shown little to no wear after 1 million cycles.
  • Sliding Puck: This puck is key to our design; it is made from one of the hardest and most anti-friction materials available. It has also shown little to no wear in 1 million cycle tests under heavy load. The puck slides back and forth between two thin, hard stainless plates without lubrication, as designed.

So far so good

First heard about these in a cycling magazine and became really interested in them because as a rider who uses regular flat pedals, I've always found myself having to make little micro adjustments in my foot position when riding. I figured with a set of these, I would no longer need to adjust my foot placement because the pedal itself would adjust.

I tired these pedals on an endurance road bike and a fat bike. I will say that they're a little on the big side and stick out from the bike some (comparable to having a set of pedal extenders -which I like because I have big feet). However, on the road bike this could lead to pedal strikes in tight turns so human bullet trains might not be about it. it's a tradeoff I would take. Riding out of the saddle was a little unnerving at first -especially if I grabbed the end of the pedal with my foot and the twist was more pronounced. However, this isn't a dig so much as a thing that forces better foot placement/riding habits. Overall I like the lighting motif, the sets of extra springs to go up or down in felt resistance, and the second set of studs if you want a more aggressive grab on your shoes.I also felt like it helped mitigate the need to constantly adjust my foot. So good product. I'm interested to see how they will perform in Alaska during the winter.

Novel idea, great pedals!

Road bike and MTB clip in pedals have float. But what about 'flats'? Now they do! A very good solution in a high quality pedal!

Great first model of pedals! I don't feel as much float as I initially was expecting, which is good because I don't want the pedal flopping all over. I still plan on playing with the different springs to see a difference. However, when first riding out of the saddle (road bike rider), I did feel more comfortable than the pedals I had on before. The pegs haven't ruined my shoes yet, so the engineering to make these easier on shoes seems to be working.

The design is really cool as I love the crackle effect. Only 1 thing I would change and 1 thing to suggest for future models. The red color looks more like pink on the online photos, which made me go with black instead. If the red was more of a normal red, those would have been my choice. So in future models, I'd like to see an adjustment to the colors so they're more true, unless the red would have come as normal and it's just a photo issue.

Second would be that for road riders concerned with weight, the pedals are a bit on the heavier side. I'm sure this isn't an issue for mountain biking, as you probably want more robust pedals. It's not bad, but I would be concerned adding these to a carbon fiber road bike considering you're trying to cut as much weight as possible on those type of bikes. So potentially adding a road-specific option that takes weight more into account would be a huge appreciation for road riders and I'm sure could lure more people over to these pedals.

Overall, I love the pedals so far and look forward to riding them and seeing what comes out in the future!

Happy feet!

A couple of rides in and I'm very happy to have float back in my riding. They have a very intuitive feel. I could feel my foot angle changing as I rode. Not having to focus on lifting my feet to adjust is a joy. The pedals are very well made and being able to fine tune them easily will add to my riding pleasure. They are a great upgrade to my bike.
